Across the pond, Christmas Day is (for many Americans) is collapsing from being over stuffed on a sofa watching one’s NFL team slug it out. This Christmas Netflix made Game Day global event with an epic Beyoncé halftime show during the Baltimore Ravens vs Houston Texans game in her hometown.
Straight off her chart smashing hit album Cowboy Carter the beyond chic cowgirl rode into the pitch on a white horse in a Roberto Cavalli white feathery floor length coat with a Cowboy Carter sash which revealed a snowy white look, western theme rhinestone bodysuit, fringed sparkly chaps accessorised with a rhinestone Cowboy Carter, belt buckle extra large white cowboy ASN Hats, sequin Christian Louboutins boots and Lorraine Schwartz spectacular diamond jewellery. Beyoncé preformed with Shaboozey, Post Malone, Reyna Roberts, Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy and danced with mini Beyoncé, Blue Ivey, 12, (looking taller than her mum, not so mini).
Blue Ivy dazzled in a Frolov corset and fringed pants with Akira boots, a diamond necklace, a white Stetson hat, white heel boots and a Cowboy Carter sash. The next generation of Knowles-Carter royalty is coming.
It was an all American show stopper with 200 members of Texas Southern University’s Ocean of Soul Marching Band, denim cover pick up truck and football pitch of white dancing cowboys and cowgirls. It wasn’t just a performance; it was a love letter to Western and Rodeo culture.
Cowboy Carter has already revived cowboy hats and boots as the fashion must-haves of the year, but with this performance, Beyoncé might just have you putting on chaps and swirling bandanas. Giddy up.
Lucky for me as a Ravens fan by default having lived in Baltimore it was an unexpected treat to watch the half time show from this side of the pond. Spoiler alert, Ravens crushed Texans 31-2!
